Ford condemns Antrim pipe bomb
8.30.00am GMT Fri 15th Jan 2010
Alliance Leader and local MLA David Ford has expressed disgust at those behind the placing of a pipe bomb near an Antrim community centre where the local GAA team was training. The device was found outside the centre at the Stiles estate.
David Ford said: "This is a despicable development. This facility plays a vital role in the wider community and this feels like an attempted assault on the whole community.
"Those behind this pipe bomb are an isolated few who can never, and must never, be allowed to hamper the strong progress made in building peace.
"We need stability on our streets and at Stormont. People want peace and evil elements will never prevail. Anyone with information on this find should contact the police immediately."
