Ford condemns attack on Antrim Hospital paramedic10.53.00am GMT Tue 1st Dec 2009
Alliance Leader David Ford has condemned the attack on a paramedic at Antrim Hospital on Sunday and said that health staff deserve the maximum protection of the law. David Ford said: "I know that the vast majority of local people will be horrified by this attack on a paramedic whose work involves serving the people of Antrim and further afield. "The attack must be condemned in the strongest possible terms: there can be no excuse of any kind. "Health staff are on the front line, and their job is difficult and challenging enough without being subjected to such attacks. I believe that consideration should be given to enhanced sentences for those found guilty of attacks on public servants."
