Ford says use your vote to show your annoyance with Executive parties12.17.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 22nd May 2009
Alliance Leader David Ford has said that simply complaining about an under-performing Stormont Executive is not enough - people must use their vote to show their annoyance. He said that Ian Parsley is the only genuine alternative for people fed up with the lack of work coming from the Executive. David Ford said: "People need to use the forthcoming European Elections to show their discontentment with the performance of the Executive parties. If people want genuine change and a real alternative to the tired politics of the past, they should vote Ian Parsley. "Ian is the unity candidate in this election and anyone wanting to protest about the lack of genuine work coming from the Executive should vote for him. "Public confidence in politics has been dented by the MPs' expenses revelations. People want a new face and a positive voice to represent them, and Ian Parsley provides this. "There has been much speculation that there will be a low turnout in the forthcoming elections because of public disillusionment with politics here. If people want to see change then I would encourage them to come out and vote to make that change. "People need to vote to make their voice heard. Complaining about politicians is no use unless you are actually going to vote. If you want to send a message to an under-performing Stormont Executive, the only real option is Ian Parsley."
