"Peace is here to stay and those who are causing trouble must be brought to justice." - David Ford MLA

Alliance Leader David Ford MLA has expressed disgust at those who threw a petrol bomb at fellow South Antrim MLA, Mitchel McLaughlin's home in Derry.

David Ford said: "This was a despicable attack on a public representative. Those seeking to cause trouble by carrying out acts of this nature are simply strengthening everyone's resolve to protect the peace.

"Peace is here to stay and those who are causing trouble must be brought to justice. We need the help of the public in apprehending those trying to destabilise peace and I would call on anyone with information to contact police immediately.

"Whether the victims are police officers, soldiers, politicians or members of the public, everyone must stand united in their condemnation of such acts."
