Alliance South Antrim MLA David Ford has condemned the murder of a man in Templepatrick on Monday night saying the village has been rocked by the attack. A 60-year-old father of four was shot dead shortly before 22:00 at a house in the Lylehill Road area.

David Ford MLA said: "This was a sickening act of brutality. My thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim at this tragic time.

"Templepatrick is a very quiet picturesque village and this atrocity is the last thing one would expect to happen here. This shooting has rocked the whole community and people will want the perpetrators to be brought swiftly to justice.

"Anyone with any information about this murder should contact the police immediately, because any small detail could help put those who carried out this callous shooting behind bars."
