Ford concern over Antrim attack4.45.00pm GMT Mon 19th Jan 2009 South Antrim Alliance MLA David Ford has hit out at thugs who carried out an attack on two Polish men in Antrim on Saturday. The incident took place as the victims were walking in the Bush Manor around midday on Saturday, and one option police are examining is that there was a racist motive for the attack. David Ford said: "This is a deeply worrying incident. It appears that police are investigating a racist motive as one of their lines of inquiry. "I hope that the victims recovery quickly and want to let them know that people are thinking about them. Figures for hate crimes in Antrim have been decreasing recently and I would hope that they would cease altogether in the area. "The wider community is appalled at this attack and the possibility of any racist motive for it."
